History and Details
The elders' home located in Udupila, Delgoda was established on January 7, 1963. The land area is 1.115 acres. Records state that this land was donated by Mr. Amarakoon Appuhamilage Don Baron Appuhami. The first compiler of this home was the late Mr. Athula Hettiarachchi. The current building was opened in 1989 as stated in the history written by him.
This home has won first place in a competition held by the Department of Social Services to standardize and improve the quality of elders' homes in the Gampaha District of the Western Province.
